Epona – 20 quai Jules Courmont, 69002 Lyon, FRANCE

Our garden terrace will be exceptionally closed from lunchtime on Sunday, July 7th, and will reopen on July 14th. During this period, our restaurant will continue to serve meals indoors, and you can enjoy a cocktail in the refreshing atmosphere of Le Dôme Bar.

Epona restaurant, located on the ground floor of the InterContinental® Lyon – Hotel Dieu, gets its name from an extremely popular goddess of Gallo-Roman religion, patron saint of horseriding and travel.

It stretches all along the imposing facade of Grand Hôtel-Dieu, embracing its historical architectural composition : stone floor, wood ceiling and plain paster walls. The luminous restaurant, that traverses the building, is bordered by large windows opening onto the Cour Saint-Louis of Grand Hôtel-Dieu. On sunny days, the restaurant occupies its splendid and quiet terrace-garden resembling a serene cloister, laid out in the historic courtyard which is none other than the former medicinal garden of the Grand Hôtel-Dieu.

It is in the heart of this timeless space, chef Mathieu Charrois opts for a menu with predominantly local flavour, featuring revisited timeless Lyonnais classics.

Les cartes

An epicurean oasis in the heart of Lyon

This year, our terrace offers a bar space in partnership with the renowned brand Malfy, known for its gins. Crafted by master distillers Beppe Ronco and Denis Muni in northwest Italy, these gins are the result of unmatched traditional craftsmanship. A range of four exceptional gins made with Tuscan juniper, pink grapefruits, blood oranges from Sicily, and lemons ripened on the Italian coast, which our bartenders have chosen to enhance in refreshing cocktails.

To enrich this journey, a relaxation area adorned with plant arches, citrus fruits, and colorful ceramics has been specially designed for an immersive sensory experience towards the sunny shores of the Mediterranean.

Feeling hungry during the day? Indulge in our savory offerings and appetizer platters to share.

The bar is open every day from midday to 9.30pm, subject to weather conditions.
