This Summer Under the Dome: The Art of Connection

Some encounters open the door to new perspectives.

InterContinental Lyon – Hotel Dieu continues its role as a vibrant destination for culture and community with a summer programme celebrating dialogue between disciplines, places and points of view.

From the bold and colourful graphic universe of Simon Poter, to the Franco-American culinary exchange imagined as part of the Bon Appétit America! initiative, and the discovery of artists championed by Heralbony, each event invites guests to explore a new form of creativity beneath the iconic Soufflot Dome.

Simon Poter at Le Dôme Bar | 19–30 June

As part of his exhibition at the Grand Hôtel-Dieu, Lyon-based artist Simon Poter extends his creative journey to Le Dôme Bar.

Recognisable for his geometric compositions, vivid colour palette and visual language inspired by graffiti, Simon Poter has spent more than twenty years developing a distinctive body of work where abstraction meets urban energy.

An original artwork will be displayed within the bar, while an exclusive cocktail created by our team will translate the vibrant nuances of his universe into flavour. A floral installation designed by Lyon florist Amarylice will echo the tones and spirit of the exhibited piece.

An invitation to experience art in all its forms.

Bon Appétit America!: A Tea Time Between Lyon and Tucson | 1–7 July

As part of the celebration marking 250 years of Franco-American culinary connections, InterContinental Lyon is proud to host the international Bon Appétit America! initiative led by The Food Capitals.

For the occasion, our Executive Pastry Chef Vincent Thomassin joins forces with American Chef Mateo Cancio to create an original Tea Time experience inspired by both French and American gastronomic traditions.

Originally from Tucson, a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, Mateo Cancio draws inspiration from the produce of the Sonoran Desert, Mexican influences and classical French techniques.

Served beneath the iconic Dome, this limited-time experience will feature a signature tea-time creation specially designed to celebrate the meeting of two culinary heritages.

Heralbony: Art Through a New Lens | 8 July – 1 September

This summer, Le Dôme Bar welcomes an exhibition in collaboration with Heralbony, the Japanese B Corp-certified company dedicated to promoting and celebrating artists with disabilities.

Works by Evelyne Postic will be exhibited throughout the bar. A Lyon-based artist exploring unseen worlds through drawing, she was awarded the Heralbony International Drawing Grand Prize in Japan in 2025.

Through her intricate and deeply expressive creations, Evelyne Postic invites us to discover alternative ways of perceiving reality.

To accompany the exhibition, our team will present a signature sake cocktail paired with a sushi bite, conceived as a tribute to Japanese culture and the spirit of this collaboration.

An opening reception will take place on 9 July.

This summer, we invite you to cross the boundaries between art, gastronomy and culture through a series of experiences where every encounter becomes a source of inspiration.
